Vanier East

Vanier East has actually ranked the third best neighbourhood for families in Red Deer. It has a median age of 31, which is super young, with over sixty of the families here having young kids. 

So, it is really a young neighbourhood with a ton of kids. These children come out and play at an awesome park right in the middle of the neighbourhood. 

Vanier East - Parks

There are for the bigger kids and then one for the little tykes. It's surrounded all by a residential home so, it's a super safe area. Young families, especially their kids absolutely love this place.

It is also a really walkable neighbourhood. There are some nice walk-in trails around a man-made lake. 

Vanier East - Types of Homes

The trails extend all the way down the outskirts of the east side of the city as well. You can get a good walk-in, they're all paved great for running or jogging, or rollerblading. 

The trails and the playgrounds will always give a ton of activities for your family.  And despite the median home price being a little bit higher than some of the other neighbours, there really is something for everyone's budget here. 

Vanier East - Centrum Area

There are condos and road townhouses, starting in the $200,000 range with homes backing on the lake that is well over a million dollars. If you're not ready to buy yet and maybe you're looking to rent for a little while, there are some multi-family units and some apartment-style complexes for rent. 

Overall, this is definitely one of the best places in Red Deer when it comes to raising a family or just neighbourhoods in general.
