Pines

This neighbourhood is a little bit older than the rest in Red Deer. Most of the homes are built in the 70s, with a few of them built in the 80s and 90s. 

There are newer neighbourhoods in Red Deer and they could be the prettiest neighbourhood, but there are certain areas of the Pines that are still nicer. In these older neighbourhoods, you are going to get bigger lots. 

Pines - Parks

Their homes do have a lot more character – unique styles and designs. You are going to find a ton of bungalows up to five levels, and splits one and a half stories. 

You're, just not going to see that character in these newer neighbourhoods as well. The mature trees make the neighbourhood absolutely more beautiful. 

Pines - Types of Homes

Some of the other benefits of living in Pines is it's very walkable. There are a lot of really neat walking paths. And it overlooks the valley and the Red Deer River. 

The Pines is located on the east side and it's kind of tucked in behind the commercial stuff off Gaetz Avenue. And if you weren't looking for it, you might actually not even know it's there. 

Pines - Centrum Arena

There's quite a broad range of prices in this neighbourhood from $118,000 apartment-style condos up to over a million dollars. The median home price so far in 2021, and this is just based on four sales, is $472,000. Last year in 2020 $330,000. So, it is a very affordable neighbourhood.

When it comes to amenities, Parkland Mall is just on the south side of 67th Street and you have access to all the shopping that's along Gaetz Avenue. 

Pines - Schools

What are some of the cons to living in this neighbourhood? Well, the homes are a little bit older. but this could be one of the pros of living in this neighbourhood.  It depends on what home you buy – you may have to put some updates and renovations into it. 

It is still a very desirable neighbourhood and if you have put some updates or renovations on your home, you'll most likely end up making some money when you go to sell your home in the future. And in this neighbourhood, updated homes usually sell very quickly.
