About Timberstone Park
Timberstone Park is a newer, planned neighbourhood in southeast Red Deer. Its municipal Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan is tied to Bylaw 3217/A-2014 and was published in the City’s 2017 plan document, so the community’s broad character is that of a 2010s-era expansion rather than an established, older subdivision. The plan area is about 48 hectares and sits east of 30 Avenue, north of 55 Street (Highway 11), beside College Park, with future-development lands to the north and east.
Housing is planned around a mix of low-, medium- and high-density residential forms, although the plan says most lots are conventional detached dwellings. The low-density areas were intended for single-detached homes in a range of lot and house sizes, with larger lots contemplated around the central park and stormwater-management facility. The first phase was described as a bare-land condominium with 82 single-family units, enhanced landscaping and architectural controls. These are planning provisions, not a guarantee that every proposed phase or housing form is present today; broadly, shoppers can expect a predominantly detached-home setting with some denser housing planned or introduced over time.
Homes, schools and recreation
For public-school access, the current Red Deer Public Schools attendance table groups Timberstone with Timberlands and lists Barrie Wilson Elementary, Central Middle School and Lindsay Thurber High School. Assignment boundaries and programs can change, and the table should be checked for a particular address before relying on it. The City plan also provides for an interconnected open-space system, including a central park, linear park connections, a stormwater facility and trail linkages.
For indoor recreation, the City’s Collicutt Centre is a practical nearby destination at 3031 30 Avenue. It offers swimming, water slides, a field house, climbing walls and other wellness and activity facilities. River Bend Recreation Area provides a larger outdoor option farther north, with River Bend Golf Course, wooded trails, Discovery Canyon, river access and cross-country ski trails.
From a central point in Timberstone Park, driving distances are approximately 5 kilometres to Red Deer City Hall, 3 kilometres to the Collicutt Centre, 8 kilometres to River Bend Golf Course and 10 kilometres to Canyon Ski Resort. These are planning-level approximations rather than precise route measurements; actual distances vary by starting street, destination entrance, traffic and road conditions. With Highway 11 and 30 Avenue at its edges, Timberstone Park offers direct east/southeast access while remaining connected to Red Deer’s established neighbourhoods and citywide services.
From a property-search perspective, Timberstone Park is best assessed at the address level. Review a home’s apparent age, maintenance history, street position, nearby open space, school-boundary status and current competition rather than relying on a neighbourhood-wide pattern alone. Nicole can help put those practical details in context before you decide whether to move forward.
