Mountview is an established, largely built-out residential neighbourhood in central Red Deer. The City of Red Deer identifies Mountview as a distinct neighbourhood on its official neighbourhood-map catalogue, while the Mountview/Sunnybrook Community Association describes the two areas as separate neighbourhoods served by one association. That setting gives Mountview an older, settled urban character rather than the feel of a recently opened edge-of-city subdivision. Homes are best understood as established low-rise residential housing, with streets and properties that reflect an earlier phase of city growth.
